Donating Adaptive Equipment (Wheel chairs, canes, walkers, & more...) Mr. Vincent Murphy, SIL Independent Living Specialist & Coordinator of Adaptive Inventory, advises our friends wishing to donate adaptive equipment to SIL's Equipment Lending Program, that they can do so anytime between 9am-3pm on Tuesdays & Wednesdays or by appointment (To-Be-Arranged)by calling him at: (216) 731-1529 Ext. 301. Equipment must be in good working order All individuals donating items will receive an acknowledge letter that can be used for tax purposes. Primary Donation Rule SIL's very practical rule for any donation is this: "If you wouldn't use it yourself - Junk it!" WE NEED VOLUNTEERS !! SIL is trying to develop a list of volunteers who are willing and able to help us with projects that require some moderate lifting; such as moving furniture or equipment around the office. The need to do this does not happen very often and completing the job doesn't take very long, but it is extremely important that we have a few people whom we can call when the need arises. If you or someone you know has some occasional free time, a way to get here and the ability to do some lifting and moving, PLEASE CALL BOBBIE at (216) 731- 1529 and she will be happy to add you to our list. ....It doesn't seem as though this would be a very difficult need to fill, but it is. So please give usin mind and give us a call. You would be a great help to us. SIL's Membership Drive If you would sincerely like to improve the lives of people with disabilities in our northeach Ohio communities, please consider joining Services for Independent Living. If you are already committed to our mission, please send SIL your renewal check (Please write "Membership" in the memo area). Currently SIL has 5 levels of yearly membership. (1) The Lake-Ontario-$25, (2) The Lake Erie-$50, (3) Lake-Huron-$100, (4) Lake Michigan-$250 and (5) The Lake Superior-$1,000. Each level brings ascending rewards for your committment to SIL's mission; e.g. discounts on all SIL event tickets..... starting at 10% and increasing to 30%, as subscription to oour quartly newsletter AwareNews, a State of Ohio map and a SIL license plate frame for our higher level members. We suggest choosing a membership level that suits you budget. Please give us a call at (216) 731-1529 to request a membership form. We also welcome and appreciate financial donation of any amount.
